Archipelago, catalogue presented at MiArt, Milan
The Golden Century has been of a big influence for The Netherlands in the past. This aspect I used for the Italian catalogue 'Archipelago' that presented Dutch new young artist in 2007 in Milan. The changing border that is used all the way through the booklet represents a a ship, the content is rocking like a boat. The horizon line is used to divide the Italian and English text on the page. For the chapter with sketches from the artists I used a metallic Gold on glossy paper, to make a link to the golden age, and to make the sketches more important than how they are normally shown in a book. Colors used in the text parts are extremes picked from the colors in the Dutch flag (red, white, blue and orange) and are connected to the 3 chapters.
